Comox Valley Community Market

The CVCM was started to fill a gap in the Valley.  Unlike other communities on the Island, there was no venue for
crafters and artisans to present their creations directly to the public.  Despite the Comox Valley's multitude of
talented residents, exhibiting excellence in a variety of disciplines, local artisans and crafters had to travel outside of
the Valley to participate in a weekly market

The CVCM provides a sense of community, not only to vendors, but also to the public. Artists, crafters and other
home based businesses are able to meet the public and showcase the Valley's home grown talent.  This year we
are filling out our ranks and inviting fair trade importers, distributors, and "at the market" service providers to join
us. We had a great time last year, and are looking forward to expanding our village to include you!

Interest from vendors and customers tells us that 2009 will be another terrific year. Join us!

The 2009 Application and  Policy Manual are available by downloading them above.  If you have any questions
    please don't hesitate to ask.

    Who we are looking for:
  • Artisans and Crafts people
  • Home Based Distributorships/Consultants
  • Fair Trade Importers
  • Food Concessions
  • Musicians
  • "At Market" Service Providers

Think that you may have something to offer but don't see a category you'd fit in? Let us know!

    Musical Opportunities

The CVCM is looking for musicians to play at the market.  This is a fabulous opportunity to get yourself out there.
Our market customers and attendees include Valley and Island residents and Tourists.

We are a family oriented market, so all music MUST be kid friendly (ie. vulgarity and coarse language is not
appropriate).  We offer an honorarium, as well as a variety of promotional opportunities.

At the market we strongly encourage busking and the sale of CDs, t-shirts and any other promotional items you
and your band may have. We also encourage advertising of any local gigs you may have coming up and the sale of
    tickets if appropriate.

In terms of at the market musician set up, we provide a 10x10 tent, PA system and generator power
(approximately 1000 Watt available output) with extension cord and power bar. Musicians are expected to provide
    their own equipment.

We are an out door, rain or shine market, and with the musician promotion we do we require a commitment to
    appear.
